| Warm welcome |
As the new General Manager for KLM and Martinair as per October 1st 2009, I have experienced a warm welcome in the Caribbean, Suriname and Guyana, I am sure I will feel at home very soon!
After almost 4 years in Stockholm as General Manager Air France KLM Northern Europe I am now committed to leading this beautiful part of the world.
Many of you I will probably meet personally in the coming period and I hope that in the mean time my colleagues on board of our aircrafts may be at your service!

Economy Comfort: extra comfort and space on KLM's intercontinental flights |

| From December 2009, Economy Comfort will be available across KLM's entire intercontinental fleet. A dedicated seating zone at the front of the Economy Class cabin, Economy Comfort offers the choice to step up from the standard Economy Class experience. Economy Comfort features seats which recline up to twice as far and offer over 10 cm more legroom! The service in Economy Comfort will be the same as that in Economy Class. Depending on the type of aircraft, there will be a different amount of seats to choose from; 38 for the MD-11 and 36 for the Boeing 747-400. As of December 2009, all passengers will be able to buy or reserve seats in Economy Comfort. Customers can choose to buy an Economy Comfort seat online as a "paid option" via klm.com (from 90 days before your flight up to 48 hours before departure), via Internet Check-In at klm.com (from 30 hours prior departure) or via Kiosks at Schiphol only (from 30 hours prior departure). Depending on the distances involved, the price of the new zone will amount between Euro 80,- and Euro 150,- per stretch. Flying Blue Platinum passengers and full flex Economy Class passengers can enjoy Economy Comfort for free and make their reservation via their travel agent or call centre from 90 days prior to their flight. Flying Blue Gold members will be offered a 50% discount and Flying Blue Silver members a 25% discount. As all seats are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, we advise booking as early as possible |
| New winter schedule |

As per the end of October KLM's new winter schedule will be in place, for some destinations this might entail a change in the arrival and departure times. Please check klm.com for the actual information!
At Curacao airport the check-in counters and baggage drop off for all passengers will open 5 hours prior departure of the flight and will close 1 hour prior departure.
At Bonaire airport the check-in counters and baggage drop off for all passengers will open 4 hours prior departure of the flight and will close 70 minutes prior departure.

From November 1st till November 20th you can participate in a unique photo competition in connection with our 75th birthday in the Caribbean! There are 3 great prizes to be won! Martinair is one of the newest partners of Flying Blue. The airline is located in the Netherlands and offers flights to destinations in the Caribbean and Florida. As per November 4th 2009 Martinair will start a twice a week service to Mombassa Kenia.
