How can you easily distinguish a letter from a flat? Using the Pitney Bowes shape-based template you can place your letter or flat up against the template to determine its category. Place your mail on a scale to determine weight and use a rate chart to compare rates. Key the appropriate postage into your postage meter as you do today.

New 13-ounce rule.

Don't use stamps for heavy mailpieces. Under new postal rules, stamped mail weighing 13 ounces or more must be taken to a retail service counter at the Post Office. If you use a postage meter, however, this rule does not apply to you! More.
