Welcome to April Episodes.

This month we have some great offers to whet your appetite. If diving is your passion or is something you have always wanted to try then take a look at our FREE diving offer for this summer on selected Turkey holidays.

Highlights of the Bernese Oberland

"As a leader for Exodus I have been lucky enough to see a fair bit of the world, but having just returned from the Alps I can share with you a truth: the Alps have some, if not the most dramatic scenery in the world! Although they are not quite as high as the Himalaya their magnificence is equally striking because you can get up close, and touch if you want, the soaring cliff faces, the massive tumbling glaciers and the roaring waterfalls."

Exodus' leader Mark Faulkner reports.

With generous donations from Exodus clients and the money raising efforts of Exodus staff and other business suppliers, we have raised nearly £6000 and have been focusing on the rebuilding of the secondary school in the nearby village of Tala.

Just ask the school kids and villagers of Tijhza, a small village tucked away in the High Atlas mountains of Morocco. Exodus has been visiting this remote mountain hideaway for over a dozen years now, however, it is only in the last few years that our regular visits have started to make a significant contribution to the lives of the villagers.

A water pipe, school toilet block, clothes and various school supplies have all been contributed by Exodus and it's clients in the past, but now we are moving up a gear after consultations with the school and the Village Association with whom we are in partnership.

Photo competition

Thank you to everyone who entered our photo competition. This month's winner is Alex Harford who took these two photos whilst travelling through Iceland last year.

Why is it a winner? (Judged by Paul Goldstein)

Scenic photographs always present challenges, as normally they are nothing more than record shots. The two vital ingredients are light and composition. If the light is poor, it is questionable as to why anyone would be photographing anyway. These are both striking, leading the eye into the shot with bold cropping and very well balanced colours and composition. The first is almost brutal in its make-up but very effective, the second superb, but nothing without the lighthouse.

Congratulations Alex, Paul’s book ‘Dotted Plains, Spotted Game' is on its way to you.
