Experian CheetahMail's 2008 Client Summit will take place in the historic Roosevelt Hotel, just steps away from famous New York City landmarks, such as Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, St. Patrick's Cathedral and famous Fifth Avenue shopping. Built in 1924, the hotel has been witness to an exciting time in New York history with Guy Lombardo playing “Auld Lang Syne” for the first time in the Roosevelt Grill, and its beautiful architecture has been made famous in films such as “Malcolm X,” “Maid in Manhattan” and “The Boiler Room.”

Experian CheetahMail has secured a special rate of $289 a night for the dates of June 25-27. To secure this discounted price, reservations must be made by June 3, 2008.

Transportation
You have a choice of three airports to fly in and out of New York. Based on weather conditions or time of day, you should expect the following travel times into the city from the area's airports: Newark airport (30 minutes); JFK airport (25 minutes) and LaGuardia airport (20 minutes). Traffic can be stubborn in New York, and parking is expensive and hard to find, so we recommend that you use one of the following to get you here from the airport.

Taxicabs
New York City yellow taxi cabs may be hailed on the street or found at taxi stands at major hotels and transportation hubs. You should always expect to see a line of taxis at any of the aforementioned airports. A taxi is available when its white rooftop number light is lit. Taxis have meters. The total cost depends on the distance traveled and time spent in the cab. Taxi drivers are usually given a 15% gratuity on top of the final metered fare. Any bridge or tunnel tolls will be added to the total charge; drivers might ask that you pay the tolls as you go through them. Taxi fare rules are as follows.

Newark International Airport
Regular metered rate of fare, plus a $15.00 surcharge, plus all tolls going to and returning from the airport.

John F. Kennedy International Airport
The flat fare is $45.00 plus any tolls.

LaGuardia International Airport
Regular metered rate of fare, as displayed below.

Metered Rate of Fare
$2.50 upon entry
$.40 for each additional unit
$.40 per 60 seconds of waiting time
$.50 night surcharge after 8:00PM and prior to 6:00AM
$1.00 Peak Hour Surcharge in effect 4:00-8:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
The unit of fare is:
One-fifth of a mile, when the taxicab is traveling at 6 miles per hour or more; or 120 seconds (at a rate of twenty cents per minute), when the taxicab is not in motion or is traveling at less than 6 miles per hour.
